Kerala wins PATA Gold

Kerala Tourism has won the 2009 PATA Gold Award in the Marketing - State/City Destination category. Kerala's entry 'Dream Season in God's Own Country' was judged best in class from amongst 236 entries worldwide. Korea's '2008 Korea, Sparkling Campaign' bagged the award for the Marketing Country Destination category.

500 youth meet for climate camp in Denmark

500 youths from more than 45 countries have convened for a climate camp which was held this month. The event was held under the auspices of Bright Green Youth to propose solutions to future climate challenges. Bright Green Youth is the youth counterpart of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP15) to be held in Copenhagen in December.

AI’s domestic low-cost model to launch in Sept

Air India’s domestic low-cost airline will be launched by end-September. For the same, 10 A320 aircraft of single-class configuration will be deployed in “price-sensitive” markets, informed Jitender Bhargava, ED (corporate communications), Air India. He added, “The aircraft will be deployed in potential markets where Air India is not getting sufficient business.”

STIC Travel Group to represent Mihin Lanka Airlines in India

STIC Travel Group has partnered with Mihin Lanka as their GSA in India. Mihin Lanka is the first international airline to connect Bodh Gaya and Varanasi directly with Colombo. The introductory offer has priced a return airfare from Bodh Gaya to Colombo and Varanasi to Colombo at Rs 5,999 (inclusive of all taxes) on per person basis.

Kingfisher Airlines to launch flights from India to Thailand

Kingfisher Airlines has announced the launch of daily direct flights between Kolkata and Bangkok. The flights will be operated using A320 aircraft featuring Kingfisher Class.
