Chetan Kapoor - Mumbai

Amal Purandare

In a recent initiative, Arzoo.com and the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) joined hands to launch the Arzoo Training Institute in Mumbai. Speaking to Express TravelWorld, Amal Purandare, head - India operations, Arzoo.com informed, "The institute is launched in coordination and affiliation with ITDC, which already offers certificate and diploma courses in hospitality and tourism. Through this initiative, we will be the first online portal to offer a travel technology institute for travel and hospitality professionals."

The institute will be based in Mumbai in Arzoo.com's premises and according to Purandare, will coach the students about modern-day travel to gear them for "tomorrow's travel company which is IT-driven". He mentions, "People do not know what online travel portals are all about. The travel sector was unorganised until the advent of the online travel portals which turned the industry into a corporate entity." Arzoo.com will also be going online with international airlines in August, which so far was transacted offline.
