Akbar Academy makes foray into education

Akbar Travels of India, one of India's largest travel houses has launched Akbar Academy. Offering career courses in travel and tourism, it provides a full-fledged career option for students who are looking towards building a career in the tourism industry. Students also have the option of joining the Akbar Group post the completion of the training course.

The academy is under the management of industry experts like Vishal Saliankar, manager for training and operations, Akbartravelsonline.com - who has had a vast exposure to airline, GDS and travel agencies, besides having been a trainer at Galileo, Raghavendran Narayanan, vendor, relationship manager, Akbartravelsonline.com, who has an experience of 13 years in corporate and leisure sector, Rajan Chacko, manager training, Akbartravelsonline.com who has been serving with Cathay Pacific in their airline sales and Dharmin Desai, fares co-ordinator, Akbartravelsonline.com who has an experience as a tour consultant and IATA foundation consultant with knowledge of all three GDS systems. The course offered will provide hands-on training to the students, combining experience and expertise.

Commenting on the new initiative, Vijay Kesavan, CEO, akbartravelsonline.com said, "The course offered at Akbar Academy provides the students with a learning environment that allows them not only to train professionally but also gain experience by means of hands-on experience in both the agency and travel online interface. The travel programme includes classroom training, students study guides, GDS modules and also provides access to Akbartravelonline.com's virtual working environment. Upon the successful completion of the programme and post-evaluation, the students will receive a transcript of their grades and will be awarded a certificate of completion.
