Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has opened
an India office which is part of a suite of 12 representative offices serving
a total of 75 countries spanning the globe. With this office, the organisation
aims to enhance its longstanding commitment to its existing international markets
while establishing an India presence.
Connect Worldwide, a global representation company with over
42 offices in 36 countries will market and promote the destination to encourage
Indian travellers to visit Las Vegas. Of the 39 million visitors who travelled
to Las Vegas in 2007, international visitors accounted for 4.7 million, or 12
per cent. By the end of the decade, the goal for Las Vegas is to attract an
estimated 1.5 million additional annual international visitors including those
from India, or 15 per cent of the overall 43 million projected. "The Indian
Market is very important to Las Vegas and is the cornerstone of our new international
strategy for the future. We will work with our representative office partner
in India to prepare our short and long term budgets in proportion to the opportunities
throughout India," said John Bischoff, vice president of International
Brand Strategy for the LVCVA said.
