Anchor House: A collection of treasures from distant shores

Welcome to Anchor House Mattancherry, set by the water front on the Kochi harbour, you'll relive the life of the seafaring captains of the early 20th century, who lodged here between their long, adventure filled voyages, making it, an ideal launch pad for your own discovery-filled journeys through Kochi.

This property is situated on Mattancherry's Bazar Street, which for centuries was a crucial part of Kerala's flourishing trade. Old shops and warehouses line the length of the narrow street. Smells of spices waft down from many a doorway. Scores of pigeons suddenly take flight as you approach. You'll pass heritage structures like the Cutchi Hanafi Mosque and numerous old churches and the famous Jew Street with its antique shops.

Anchor House is outfitted sumptuously. In the lobby, a grandfather clock is mute witness to the passage of a century. The hotel provides super deluxe and suite rooms, shaded by a venerable tamarind tree. And like the sailors of yore, Anchor House has brought together a collection of treasures from distant shores, like Globe lamps from Rajasthan, bamboo furniture from the north, and an exquisite antique lamp from the neighbouring Jewish town. All to add to your sense of adventure.

Some of the facilities here include, three different restaurants for different moods, laundry, health club, steam & sauna bath, round-the-clock security, ample car parking, children's play area, etc.
