KSTDC hotels set for a makeover

The Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), which runs various
hotels, cottages, restaurants and boat clubs in the state, is set to overhaul
all its existing properties. In an exclusive interview with Express TravelWorld,
Vinay Luthra, managing director, KSTDC, said, "The makeover of the properties
will be carried out in two phases. While in the first phase, seven budget hotels
(which are located in Badami, Belur Srirangapatna, Hampi, Ooty, Mysore and Coorg)
will be upgraded, in the second phase its other hotels, cottages, restaurants
and boat clubs will be upgraded. It envisages an investment of Rs 12 crore
in its first stage of upgradation. "We will introduce all-inclusive packages
in all our properties," added Luthra. The second phase, according to him,
will commence once the first phase of upgradation is complete. KSTDC currently
runs 24 budget properties, six restaurants and three boat clubs across the state
under the brand name of Mayura.
