Global Destinations eyes Australian, Turkish and European representations

After commencing operations in March 2008, Mumbai-based Global Destinations is already eyeing more representations.

Speaking to Express TravelWorld, Pranav Kapadia, its director said, "We are a B2B player and want to support sales and marketing of international inbound travel agents, tour operators, domestic airlines, and hotel chains in various countries. We are in talks with agents in Australia, Turkey and another European counterpart as they are our immediate focus and hope to get them onboard in a few months."

Currently, the firm represents ERM Tours from South Africa, General Travels from New Zealand and Your Way Tours from Brazil, while Kenyan-based Safari Trails will be represented from August 1, 2008.

Kapadia mentioned, "We are working on a South American brochure as there is a lot of interest in travelling there, but it will take another two years to come into force. Also, we would be organising a FAM trip for key agents in the near future besides having internal workshops for the front liners and the trade, which is a key market for us."

Furthermore, it also has plans to expand by opening offices in North and South India. He added, "We have to fulfil the targets set by our principals and remain a professional set up by being honest to the trade. It is important to achieve the deliverables and not only work on retainer ships." The firm would be focussing heavily on the MICE traffic for its representations, Kapadia informed.

In the long-run, Global Destinations is also looking at representations from Canada and Korea but according to Kapadia, destinations need to be ready for the Indian market and see value in representation.
