Galileo launches industry's first Podcast

Global Distribution System (GDS), Galileo, in a move to reach to its target audience in India has launched Galileo PodCast, a first of its kind, innovative medium of electronic communication. A series of digital-media files which are distributed over the Internet using syndication feeds for playback on portable media players and computers, a PodCast in simple terminology is an internet radio.

Speaking at the launch of Galileo PodCast, Bruce Hanna, president and CEO, InterGlobe Technology Quotient, official distributor of Galileo in India said, "Uptil now, communication relied on printed words but we have given voice to words. The transition is amazing, and ensures that we are connected with our partners all the time. We think the market is ready and mature to share their experiences, views and opinions on issues that affect their day to day business. Galileo PodCast would be for the industry and by the industry. It will ensure that the monthly topics touches the travel and aviation community directly, hence the selection of eTicketing as the first message."Based on the principal of social networking, Galileo PodCast would be one of the many mediums launched to create a Galileo community. Galileo connects to over 52,000 travel agencies worldwide and to over 11,000 touch points in India. Galileo PodCast utilises the vast reach and usage of the internet and hence becomes the first GDS to launch such an initiative.
