VCI Hospitality to foray into travel

Hospitality major VCI hospitality is set to venture into
the travel industry. The group is launching a new travel company, World Destination
Travel, which will cater to high-end travellers. In an exclusive interview with
Express TravelWorld, Vijay K Singh, chairman of VCI Hospitality, said,
"Driven by the phenomenal growth of inbound and outbound (both leisure
and corporate) tourism, we have decided to launch a new travel company that
will cater to all needs of the premium traveller."
He added, "We will be foraying into various segments
of travel like business travel, leisure travel, inbound, outbound, meetings
and incentives, residential conferences, and concierge services." For the
outbound market, the group is targeting south-east Asia and the MENA region
and will employ its own staff. It has already opened branch offices in Dubai,
London and Shanghai and plans to open another nine offices abroad. In India,
the group has opened offices in Bangalore, Kochi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad,
Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Jaipur and Kolkata.
