Orbitz Corporate & Leisure Holiday Travels India is in
the process of starting an inbound division. According to Rupen Vikamsey, its
managing director, "At the moment, our inbound business is supplemented
through MICE. But we are in the process of developing products specifically
for the inbound segment and our new division will be in place by 2009."
According to him, even though the incentive part of MICE
has been more popular market as far as India is concerned, the company has decided
to focus on every category of MICE individually through separate departments.
In fact, it has launched a division for organising exhibitions. The company
has also enhanced its meetings segment by organising business study tours "Through
this, we are bringing the Indian trade and those of foreign countries together
for various industries such as dairy, ceramics, architecture, buildings and
construction," informed Vikamsey.
For its Premium Holidays division, Vikamsey says, "We
have new products this year with our Europe and Kashmir brochures that offer
tailor-made packages with Indian food, high-end private cars, drivers and tour
guides all to themselves. They can do what they want, when they want at a price
which doesn't hurt their pockets." Orbitz is also in the process of adding
new destinations such as the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and South America to
its offerings and open one more international office in the near future.
