India to get low-cost air chartered service
EAW Staff - Mumbai
Manav Singh, managing director of fractional ownership company Club One Air,
has announced the launch of a new air charter service in India with the acquisition
of 10 Very Light Jets (VLJs) - the Eclipse 500 - from Eclipse Aviation. The
aircraft will operate under a different company promoted by Singh.
Speaking to Express AviationWorld, Singh said, "We
are aiming for a July-August launch and unlike Club One Air which has its exclusivity,
the new airline will be low-cost catering to the low budget business travellers
such as the middle management, smaller businessmen and proprietors." He
however refused to mention the name of the new airline.
The release further stated him saying, "The cost of acquisition coupled
with the low operating costs of the Eclipse 500 make it the ideal aircraft for
enhancing business travel in India." The company will receive all 10 aircraft
within 15 months, mentioned Singh, adding that the new additions of the VLJs
will offer a wide variety of aircraft to choose from.
