FEC Heliports Worldwide hoping to get into India

Anupama Sushil - New Delhi

With the authorisation of Pawan Hans Helicopters (PHHL) for development of heliports in Delhi and Mumbai in addition to its release of an expression of interest for designing of 40 more helipads, UK-based FEC Heliports Worldwide, a company that designs, manufactures and installs roof top heliports is highly hopeful of getting the release in their favour. Being a worldwide seller of heliports, and talking exclusively to Express AviationWorld, Fraser Mackay, director, FEC Heliports Worldwide said, "India shows a huge potential in the near future and the Indian Commonwealth Games committee has expressed an interest in building a heliport similar to the one in Manhattan and we are hopeful of grabbing the opportunity."

He also pointed out that tourism sector would show great results if such heliports come into place. While, FEC Heliports specialise in portable cheap heliports like roof top heliport, portable helipad, ground helipad, landing equipment, landing dollies and heliport lighting, they will be ideal for any terrain and situation and also it acts as a great advertising space.

"As India's recognition in the international market increases and more so as a medical tourism destination, it becomes important to have world class facilities around. Building portable heliports for hospitals would enable them to operate easily in extreme and remote locations as well. The growth in the helicopter market will surely be noticeable," remarked Mackay. Taking a cue from this, Fortis Hospital is reported to be exploring the possibility of installing a portable heliport in its building.
