CV Prasad is new UFTAA chief

CV Prasad, president of Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) has been elected president of the global travel body, the United Federation of Travel Agents Association (UFTAA) for 2007-08. The election was held at the annual general meeting in Casablanca, Morocco.

It is after a gap of 23 years that an Indian has been elected to the prestigious position. In the past, Jimmy Guzder and Vinoo Ubhayakar, who have both been past presidents of TAAI, have held this position. Prasad said the appointment was as much a recognition of India as an emerging power as it is a recognition of Indians' capability to lead in times of change.
