Bangalore-based travel information portal Holiday IQ has announced
plans of increasing their content to include in-depth information and reviews
about destinations abroad. This, according to Hari Nair, its founder and CEO,
would make Holiday IQ the first Indian travel portal to provide interactive
user-generated reviews on foreign destinations.
Speaking exclusively to Express TravelWorld, Nair said, "We have decided
to add international destinations too as more Indians have started travelling
abroad. With better connectivity, more Indians have started to research about
destinations online." The content and reviews on destinations abroad will
be available in the next quarter, before next year's summer vacations.
Holiday IQ also has plans of partnering with traditional travel agent and tour
operators apart from online travel agents. "Till now, we dealt only with
online travel agents. We provide an audience for the agents registered with
us but we now want to provide access to the smaller travel agents and tour operators
as well who do not have the required bandwidth. We get abut four lakh visitors
per month presently and we would like to increase this to 24 lakh per month
over the next three years," added Nair.
Launched in 2004, Holiday IQ operated under the name India Resorts Survey providing
information and ratings for the Indian travel market. This was later changed
to Holiday IQ to include user ratings on hotels. With one lakh registered users,
Holiday IQ provides ratings and reviews of various destinations and hotels in
India.
