Trail Blazers India to set up retail outlets
Chetan Kapoor - Mumbai
Trail Blazers India (TBI) which focuses on the inbound, outbound
and domestic package tours, is looking at setting up retail showrooms across
the country. This comes at a time when even the online players are aggressively
trying to enter the offline space by foraying into the retail segment.
In its pilot project, TBI plans to roll out walk-in stores
in Noida, Varanasi, Agra and Cochin and eventually Mumbai. Speaking to Express
TravelWorld at the launch of its Mumbai regional office, Homa Mistry, its
CEO, says, "Retail is big business in the country. This would be a pilot
project where everything - international and domestic tickets, packages, etc
- will be available in one place. We will provide customers with whatever they
ask for over the counter. These stores would roll out in commercial areas at
first and later on in malls."
Adding to that was Hutokshi Marker, COO of the company, who
also heads the Mumbai division, "We are very confident about this project.
Business is rolling in because of the relations we have with our customers.
The employees have decades of experience in the industry and have good relations
and a strong network with the airlines, hotels and tourism boards, thus ensuring
their support. All this is because of brand loyalty."
TBI is also looking at promoting Finland and Ireland as new
destinations for its MICE and FIT travellers who have evolved from the usual
south-east Asian countries.
