China Airlines increases frequency on Delhi - Taipei sector

Anupama Sushil - New Delhi

Taiwan is seriously looking at India as a potential inbound tourist destination. Starting November this year, China Airlines will add two more flights to its existing three flights to Taiwan connecting India with Taiwan. The two newly added frequencies will be served by a brand new A330 -300 aircraft having a capacity of 313 passengers.

Speaking to Express TravelWorld, corporate manager marketing and operations India, China Airlines Pritam Ahluwalia said that the additional flights are mainly aimed at leisure travellers and the increased direct connectivity will be an added incentive to help them explore the destination. With all the clearances in place, the airline seeks to fly daily flights in the near future.

He further added that the initiative has been launched keeping in view Taiwan's increasing presence in the Asian market and its special interest at converting Indian business travellers to leisure travelers. The airline, said Ahluwalia, aims at bringing the travel communities of both the countries closer and increasing tourism to both countries. Being the national carrier of Taiwan, the airline will act as a facilitator between the two countries. The airline also has its own domestic airline network that will help passengers travel smoothly within the country.
