Cox & Kings leases own mountain in Swiss Alps

Mt Cox & Kings is added attraction for Indian group travel

ETW Staff - Mumbai

Cox & Kings will be completing 250 years next year and as a countdown to its celebrations, the tour operator has leased a mountain at Lungern in the exotic Swiss Alps and exclusively named it as Mt Cox & Kings. Located strategically between Lucerne and Interlaken, two of the must-see tourist spots on any itinerary, Mt Cox & Kings offers a panoramic view of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau peaks.

Targetting the Indian outbound, a trip to the mountain is exclusively for Cox & Kings group travellers and involves a cable car ride to Turren and then a chair lift to Schonbuel, the mountain top. The company offers many fun filled activities at the mountain like Swiss chocolate casting, walking trails, traditional folk dances, Bollywood disco nite, etc. The package includes a gala dinner at the mountain inn restaurant which can accommodate upto 250 pax at one time. To cater to Indian tastes, the company has even stationed an Indian chef at the mountain inn.

Meanwhile, Cox & Kings has been adjudged as the Most Preferred Tour Operator in India by CNBC Awaaz Travel Awards 2007 recently. Speaking on the occasion, Peter Kerkar, global CEO, Cox & Kings said, "We feel honoured and extremely happy to have received this prestigious award. We, at Cox & Kings, have constantly strived to create fantastic journeys and experiences for our customers without compromising on quality. Winning this award is a proof that our efforts are appreciated and definitely a celebration time for us."

The awards were based on research carried by AC Nielsen, one of India's leading research companies, which identified the most preferred tourism brands and destinations in India. Winners in 18 categories and their sub categories were felicitated at the ceremony which was attended by ministers from various state tourism boards.
