Bombay Travels merges with Jazz Travels

Chetan Kapoor - Mumbai

The merger of Mumbai-based Bombay Travels with Jazz Travels seems to be an interesting marriage in which the former is a non-IATO member while the latter isn't.

Speaking to Express TravelWorld, Karl Dantas, managing director of Bombay Travels and president of ETAA said, "The four-decade old Bombay Travels will merge with a two-year old Jazz Travels. Our team will continue to specialise in packaged tours while Jazz Travels will help us in ticketing. Eventually, client base of the merged entity will only rise because of the synergies."

The partnership would be effective July-end with Nikhil Advani continuing to be the managing director of Jazz Travels and Dantas being a consultant for the same. Dantas adds, "My wife and I will offer consultancy services to Jazz and also to tourism bodies and other travel companies. Also, I would concentrate on strengthening ETAA." Dantas, known for his niche destinations will continue to add more niche products and tailor-made itineraries for his clients. "After specialising in China, Turkey and Greece we are looking at Ireland with the option of self-drive there," concluded Dantas.
