BPCL ‘In & Out’ convenience stores stock Air Deccan tickets

EAW Staff - Bangalore

Air Deccan, India's largest and fastest growing airline and BPCL, India's second largest oil marketing company have joined hands for sale of Air Deccan tickets at BPCL ‘In & Out’ convenience stores across India.

Air Deccan which has constantly innovated and set newer trends in the aviation industry was the first airline in India to start selling air tickets at petrol pumps. Taking this a step forward, Air Deccan has now partnered with BPCL's retailing initiative ‘In & Out’.

The "In & Out" stores at Bharat Petroleum petrol pumps offer a convenient shopping experience where a number of typical household errands are aggregated under one roof for the benefit of the customers. There are more than 300 ‘In & Out’ Stores spanning the country and to start with, Air Deccan tickets will be available at 35 outlets located in Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Delhi, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. Passengers will be provided with the convenience of booking, modifying and re-scheduling Air Deccan tickets at these outlets.

Speaking about the tie-up, Ramki Sundaram, CEO of Air Deccan said, "Two key elements for the success of a product are its affordability and accessibility. We have priced our airfares at a level that is affordable and it is our constant endeavor to ensure easy accessibility of our tickets. With the widest network in the country connecting 65 destinations in India, we are further expanding to the interiors of the country. To be able to reach out to the maximum number of people especially in remote regions it is extremely essential to have a strong distribution network." He further added, "Petrol stations are widely recognised to be one of the highest traffic pullers and witness high customer footfall. With this strategic alliance not only will we leverage the BPCL network and footfall, but will also provide the convenience of enabling consumers to purchase air tickets at their neighborhood store. Consumers like to spend the least amount of time and seek convenience for their basic requirements. We believe that with this tie-up we would be able to fulfill these needs and make Air Deccan tickets more accessible and within reach for more people."

George Paul, DGM (Brand & ARB) BPCL said, "Petrol retail outlets provide the right framework for setting up convenience retail chains where the consumer has the opportunity of combining shopping with fuelling. We have more than 300 ‘In & Out’ convenience stores located across the length and breadth of the country and strategically located with a high customer footfall. Our stores follow the best retail practices and offer a wide range of services which would now include Air Deccan tickets adding great value to our retailing initiative."
