DTCM supports culture and arts forum
The
Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has extended its support
to the Dubai Culture and Arts Forum which runs until August 31, offering diverse
activities to the residents and visitors of the emirate.
Besides a main sponsor, the department is providing venues for different programmes
at the Heritage and Village Village in Al Shindagha and Hatta Heritage Village
in addition to Media and PR support and event promotion through its network
of Visitors Information Bureaus (VIBs) and DTCM website www.dubaitourism.ae.
Salem Al Youha, general coordinator of Dubai Culture and Arts Forum, said the
eight-weeks programme offers opportunities to residents and visitors to learn
more about the UAE culture through theatre, cinema, fine arts, science &
literature, traditional music and heritage.
Organised by Dubai Cultural Council (DCC), this is the first-of-its-kind event
in the UAE. This has been organised in line with the vision of His Highness
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and Prime Minister of
UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to promote UAE's rich heritage, art and culture among
the local youth.
Through the forum, the DCC aims to promote Dubai as a cultural destination by
preserving and promoting its rich local heritage. The event is also supported
by Sultan Al Owais Cultural Foundation, Juma Al Majid Center for Culture and
Heritage, The Cultural and Scientific Association, among others. Anwar Al Hanai,
DTCM manager Heritage Village , The activities at the two DTCM-operated heritage
sites include making and exhibiting handicraft that are part of the cultural
heritage of the UAE.
