The Board of The International Ecotourism Society
(TIES) has appointed a full time executive director, Dave Sollitt
to run the Washington, DC-based global organisation. Sollitt comes to
TIES from the private sector, where he had a varied career in regional,
national and international marketing and communications, including extensive
work with tourism-based clients.

 Naveen
Chawla has been promoted to the post of regional manager (India) from
his previous title of being an area manager. His tryst with the aviation
industry began as a customer services agent for British Airways and then
the revenue controller in KLM Royal Dutch Airlines based in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Pramod Sirohi, has been appointed as head
(business & strategy) in Mimgroup of companies. He brings with him
15 years of experience in advertising, banking and travel industry. He
will be responsible for enhancing existing and new business initiatives
in the leisure travel arena.

| Krishna Bhagwan has been appointed as head
(outbound leisure). He brings with him 17 years of experience in the travel
industry. He will be responsible for scaling up the existing set-up to higher
levels in the outbound travel arena. |

Leena Nandan who has taken over as joint
secretary, ministry of tourism, government of India, effective April 1
2007. She brings with her 19 years of experience; she is a qualified IAS
of 1987 UP cadre and has been on central deputation with the ministry
of tourism as a director since the year 2004.

Anuj Goel has been appointed as VP (finance).
A chartered accountant, Goel has an experience of over 15 years in holding
senior level corporate positions discharging specialist roles. He has
worked for a wide range of industry segments and is also a visiting professor
and guest faculty to a number of management institutes.

Mushtaq Vakani has been appointed as the
sales manager (Mumbai). He has an experience of 14 years in the airline
industry. Before joining SriLankan Airlines, he was working with Amadeus
India as assistant sales manager.

Anoop Tewari joins Worldspan India as head
(sales), North India. He brings with him nine years of experience in the
travel industry. Tewari was working with Qatar Airways as district sales
manager before joining Worldspan.
He has handled critical responsibilities with airlines
like SAS, Delta, etc.

Soumava Mukherjee has been appointed as regional
manager (eastern region). He will play a vital role in providing a strong
leadership, formulating and implementing strategies. He brings with him
over 10 years of experience.

Kenilworth Beach Resort and Spa, Goa has announced the appointment of
Bill Marchetti as the executive chef. Known as the godfather of Italian
cuisine, Bill Marchetti has been the executive chef, Italian Cuisine,
at the ITC Maurya Sheraton in New Delhi for 5 years.
