J&K Tourism looking at newer products
A joint conference of the J&K Tourism and PHD Chamber
of Commerce & Industry in New Delhi discussed threadbare the imperatives
for faster growth of tourism in Jammu & Kashmir. The state tourism informed
about the new destinations, products and circuits coming up in the state to
woo tourists. Destinations like Bhaderwah, Zanaskar and Gurez are being promoted
in a big way. Golf tourism and adventure tourism is being given impetus and
these products are popular both among domestic as well as international tourists.
Le Passage to India launches 'Luxe India'
Le Passage to India has launched a new brand 'Luxe India'
to attract the up-market tourists to India. It aims at giving a toll-free number
to visitors to seek information from their personal concierge on fine dining
restaurants, choice of wines, art exhibitions, shopping, etc. The service also
offers chartering of aircraft for top corporate executives for air travel and
luxury automobiles for touring.
London to unveil three-month 'India Now' cultural extravaganza
London will host 'India Now', a three-month season focused
on London's interaction with India's rapidly growing economy and exploring India's
culture. It will take in events, activities and festivals across the capital
dedicated to Indian art, film, food, theatre, music and fashion. Ken Livingstone,
the mayor of London announced the details of the season as part of his programme
for extending business and cultural links between London and India in 2007.
The season will be launched in the week commencing July 16 with the theme 'India
and London - partners in globalisation'.
Kingfisher announces training academy for the youth in
Mumbai
Kingfisher will soon launch a training academy for the youth
in Mumbai. The academy will deal with new age courses equipped to groom the
young generation for the retail, hospitality, aviation and BPO to start with.
These six-month courses are designed to meet international standards, and would
empower the students to face the global needs of the market place.
Luxury train, house boats to boost tourism in Maharashtra
After Deccan Odyssey, the Maharashtra Tourism is planning
another luxury train project on the narrow gauge between Nagpur and Nagbhid.
A committee comprising Maharashtra government, Indian Railways and Maharashtra
Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) is working on it. MTDC has launched house
boat projects in Konkan backwaters to enhance natural tourism trail in the state.
Aviareps invests in Marketing Garden
Effective April 1, 2007, Aviareps, the airline representation and tourism marketing
company, will invest in tourism marketing company Marketing Garden, which will
be renamed Aviareps Marketing Garden, and will provide integrated airline representation
and tourism marketing services in Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore,
India, Australia and the UAE. Aviareps has offices in 30 countries.
