Tourism Malaysia offers series of activity based events throughout the year

As part of its Visit Malaysia 2007 celebrations theme and
campaign, Tourism Malaysia is offering its Indian clientele a series of year
round adventure, activity and theme based events and festivals to visit and
explore. The new campaign aims to meet the requirements of a diverse clientele
from families to couples, MICE etc. The various events and activities that are
currently on and those that will be started are as follows:
Eye on Malaysia, from 7 Jan - 31 Dec, in Kuala Lumpur
provides the visitor a unique 360-degree panoramic view of Kuala Lumpur. This
is a 30-minute ride that reaches a height of 60 metres and offers a magnificent
view of over 20 kms of the city.
World Harvest Festival from 25 May - 2 June at Sarawak
gives the visitor an insight into the ceremonies of the Dayak communities in
Sarawak, wherein they celebrate Han Gawai to mark the end of a successful harvest
season.
Japan GT from 22 - 24 June at Sepang, Selangor is
an action-packed event at the Sepang International Circuit that draws enthusiasts
from all over the world. Here one gets to see extensively modified sports cars
and charming GT queens.
The Rainforest World Music Festival from 13 - 15 July,
Sarawak, will take place in the interior of mystical Borneo, where musicians
from across the world gather to celebrate a fusion of nature, culture and ethnic
music. The event promises some special cuisine experience and also to be a part
of the 15 million year old rainforest of Malaysia.
Lion Dance Invitation, from 3 - 5 August, Genting
Highlands, Pahang, wherein one can enjoy spectacular performances by the best
lion dance troupes from all over the world, held especially in conjunction with
Malaysia's 50th anniversary and for the Visit Malaysia Year 2007 campaign.
Mount Kinabalu International Climbathon, from 25 -
26 August, Sabah. Touted as 'The World's Toughest Mountain Race', it involves
a race to ascend and descend the majestic Mount Kinabalu (4,095 m). The race
determines the ultimate champion of the 7-series Federation for Sport at Altitude's
(FSA) Skyrunning World Championship.
Colours of Malaysia, from 26 May to 10 June, in Kuala
Lampur, promises to offer the best of Malaysian culture, cuisine and crafts.
