CAPA to organise two aviation events in Mumbai

The Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) will be organising two exciting aviation events to be held in June at Mumbai. The two events will have the highest calibre of speakers addressing major issues facing the sector.

3rd Annual Aviation & Tourism Investor Summit

Taking place at JW Marriott, Mumbai on June 11 and 12, 2007 the 3rd Annual Aviation & Tourism Investor Summit will cover major global developments and investment opportunities, and will also include special focus sessions on two of the most exciting regions in the world, India and the Middle East.

It will allow the 250-odd delegates to experience the buzz, and meet with the key decision makers first-hand. It will build on the resounding success of last year's events which featured keynote addresses by India's Minister of Civil Aviation, Praful Patel; Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder and chairman of the easyGroup and Dr Vijay Mallya, chairman and CEO of Kingfisher Airlines.

Now in its fourth year, the CAPA Low Cost Airline Symposium is established as the leading event for India and the Middle East. This year it will be held in Mumbai on 13 June 2007.

The event will consider the outlook for the region's low-cost sector. In India, LCCs have driven domestic traffic growth of almost 50 per cent, but face critical issues related to profitability, funding, infrastructure and regulation. This year will be a pivotal year for the long-term viability of the sector and the symposium will provide critical insights into the likely outcomes.

Meanwhile, in the Middle East, the model is gaining momentum, Kuwait and the UAE already have successful operators and in 2007 low-cost airlines are set to launch in the largest Gulf market - Saudi Arabia.
