Thuriya Leisure launched

Thuriya Leisure launched its operations in Kochi with a grand gala function at the Le Meridien Hotel. The inauguration was done by E K Bharat Bhushan IAS, principal secretary, tourism, Government of Kerala by lighting the traditional lamp.

Thuriya Leisure is a member of the renowned Consolidated Shipping Services group in Dubai. The first phase of Thuriya's operations would mainly focus on inbound and outbound tours giving prominence to unique tour packages along with the regular programmes. The company plans to open its branches in major cities across India for proper coordination of the leisure activities. It is also planning to expand its horizons in the later stages to include varied leisure activities like public relations, events and media production. The future programmes of Thuriya were presented and the corporate brochure was released at the function.

Vellinezhi Grammon was announced as the destination experience of the year by Thuriya Leisure. The company proposes to offer similar unexplored destinations every year to their guests and aims at giving maximum promotion to these places with its marketing tools and tour packages. The Thuriya Lifetime Achievement awards were also distributed to Kathakali maestro Kalamandalam Ramankutty Nair and Melavidwan Mattannor Sankaran Kutty Marar at the launch ceremony.

Thuriya has come out with special tour packages connecting Vellinezhi with other destinations in Kerala. The literary tours, intended to be promoted in Germany covers destinations like Talassery and Tirur. More programmes will be launched and marketed in Europe this year.

Prominent faces from the hospitality and tourism industry were seen along with the other corporate heads at this function. Tourism director, B Suman IAS, KTDC managing director M N Gunavardhanan IAS, Taj Hotels' vice president T Damu, CSS Group senior vice president Raj George and CSS Group chairman T S Kaladharan, were the other dignitaries on the dias.
