Egypt allows visa on arrival for Indians

ETW Staff - Mumbai

The Egyptian government has shown interest in promoting its country to Indian travellers. The Egyptian Tourist Authority has approved visa on arrival for Indians wishing to travel to the country.

Indian groups can take the Urgent Visa at the Cairo International Airport on the condition that they fulfil the required criteria. Individual travellers can avail a visa on arrival only if the purpose of the trip is business or tour. The cost for such visa will be US $20 per person.

Normal procedures to obtain the visas from the Egyptian Consulate in Mumbai or the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in New Delhi remain the same. As per WTTC, India has the fifth fastest growing tourism industry in the world and the outbound market is expected to grow at 15-20 per cent per annum.
