MMH Programme at Marian College

The School of Hospitality and Management at Marian College Kuttikkanam, instituted in November 2003 endeavours to carve a niche and gain a pre-eminence as a school dedicated to synergic blend of theory and practice, academics and administration, education and job orientation. The school has established a programme unique on the Indian academic scene - Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH). It is a government aided multidisciplinary four semester post graduate programme affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam, Kerala.

The four semester programme curriculum was given final shape after a series of consultations with people in the higher echelons of the industry and academia in India and abroad. The content and delivery of this programme is in line with premier management institutes in India

"The four semester programme curriculum was given final shape after a series of consultations with people in the higher echelons of the industry and academia in India and abroad. The content and delivery of this programme is in line with premier management institutes in India. This fully residential course will undertake five industry projects in addition to the classroom training, perfectly blends industry experience with academics. The industry acceptance of the programme is evident in the successful placement of all our first batch of students with attractive remuneration" says Fr Roy, head of department, MMH, Marian College.

The programme is multi-disciplinary in nature, covering a wide range of areas in the field of management, hospitality, tourism, social sciences and is modelled on the Cornell University programme. "Tourism and hospitality sectors are the two fastest growing related industries in the world. But to take care of the growing personnel needs in the industry there are very few training institutions." adds Fr Roy.
