Star Cruises to be available on Amadeus Cruise system
ETW Staff - Mumbai
Star
Cruises has signed up for a distribution agreement via Amadeus Cruise, which
is a powerful desktop application for travel agents, giving them the ability
to sell simply and quickly through an intuitive browser-based graphical user
interface. The travel agent has access to a standardised interface providing
full information to book cruise vacation packages.
Travel
agents can book cruise packages along with air, cars, hotels and other travel
services. Once launched, Star Cruises will become the 18th cruise line available
on the Amadeus system (by far the highest cruise content of any GDS). The relationship
with Star Cruises provides Amadeus with a competitive edge in the region, as
Amadeus Cruise will be the only GDS application to include Star Cruises inventory.
According to Karun Budhraja, GM, Marketing Communications, Amadeus Indian subcontinent,
Amadeus Cruise reflects the needs of both customers and providers to conduct
their daily business effectively. "In today's day and age non-air content
is the latest trend on the GDS platform and we have left no stone unturned to
provide this to our users. Amadeus Cruise has the most reliable, efficient and
seamless information on cruises which doubtless will go a long way in increasing
efficiencies and revenue bottom lines of the travel agency network," he
says.
Integrated into the Amadeus PNR, Amadeus Cruise complements
its existing product range. It can be accessed through a standalone application
or through Amadeus Vista desktop.
