Galileo Offers A Host Of New Solutions To Travel Agents
Jyoti Koul - New Delhi
In a bid to offer new and upgraded technological solutions
to the travel agents, Galileo India has unveiled an array of new solutions to
enhance the quality and speed of the reservation process. Apart from introducing
Viewpoint 3.0, Custom Check, Standardised Scripts and HotelClub, it has also
upgraded its existing 360 degree fares. The company has been spending a lot
of time to constantly develop the new products.
When asked about how much time the company invests in order to develop these
new value additions, Raja Natesan, president and CEO, Galileo India said, "Different
products need different time frames to develop. For example 360 degree fares
took years to develop and will take years for our competition to catch up. Quality
scripting could be done in weeks or even days based on its complexity."
Galileo International invests millions of dollars every year into developing
new products that are specifically tailored to meet the requirements of its
travel agent community.
"These products are initially beta-tested in a few markets and feedback
is sought. This is then incorporated into the final product and rolled out across
the world," he informed. It is interesting to note that today India is
among the first few countries to get new products rolled out as it is among
the fastest growing in the world.
Additionally, in India, Galileo carries out extensive customer surveys to bring
into India specific scripts and solutions that are developed by its own team
based in Gurgaon. Some of these include back-office packages, BPO services,
process improvement studies, tech and process consulting, and of course the
ubiquitous scripts. Therefore, some of the largest names in the travel industry
e.g. Thomas Cook, BTI-Sita, American Express, Akbar, Riya among many others
use Galileo solutions.
According to Natesan, "All our solutions are aimed at adding value to our
business partners, thereby giving them an advantage and a strategy to stay ahead
of their competition."
