Hi Tours Charts Out Major Expansion Plans

Jyoti Koul - New Delhi

Nomad Excursions, now re-christened Hi Tours, has charted out expansion plans for itself. Among them is the shift in focus from regular run-of-the-mill trips to tours designed for special interest groups.

The company changed its name to Hi Tours to re-establish itself as a new brand. Hi Tours reportedly brings a lot of Dutch tourist traffic in the country. It recently hosted a delegation from Netherlands and organised a meeting between travel professionals and senior officials from the ministry of tourism to promote India.

According to Prem Syal, CEO of Hi Tours (India) Pvt Ltd, "We are re-engineering customised tours by involving industry experts from various fields such as culinary, entertainment and sports to lead special interest groups. We have formulated special packages that include cuisine tours, Bollywood and architectural tours to invoke renewed interest among foreign tourists. This is also a novel way of showcasing India's rich tourism potential."

Hi Tour has already announced its Bollywood tour for the current year that will be led by VJ Kamal followed by a cuisine tour in August this year. "This tour shall be headed by Krishna Jamal, a Vancouver-based restaurateur from Rubina Tandoori. It makes sense to have renowned people and experts from that particular field to lead the group and explain the theme," Syal added.

Servicing both inbound and outbound markets, the company in its new avatar is also planning to set up office in various places in India and abroad by the end of this financial year. It has already established six offices in the country at present and will open about 10 more in Agra, Varanasi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Cochin among other places. All offices will take care of both inbound and outbound markets.
