ITQ Brings To You The Galileo-Express Travel & Tourism Awards

Polling At All Major Travel Conventions

ITQ brings to you the Galileo-Express Travel & Tourism Awards this year that has become synonymous with excellence in the travel industry. These awards are slated to be held in Mumbai by the end of this year after being hosted in New Delhi for two consecutive years. The latest news on the awards front is that the nomination forms (evaluation forms in case of 'Auto Nominate' system) are to reach all nominees by August 15, 2005 and duly filled and returned by September 30, 2005. Subsequently, an industry polling for these awards will be conducted at the upcoming IATO, TAAI and TAFI conventions, in order to cover all agents across the country.

Meanwhile, the award's association with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT) India Pvt Ltd - a huge accounting and research firm - as research partners still remains untouched. Playing a key role, they will aid the judging process by making it transparent, supervising the overall data collation and evaluation of results as well as assuring participants of confidentiality of information.

With the awards turning three, everyone can look forward to innovations injected into its various processes as various procedures and criteria continue to be streamlined. The highlight of the awards, the new 'Auto Nominate' system, will kick-off from this year.

Here, front-runners in each segment who have consistently stayed ahead of the game will be nominated automatically and need to only fill their evaluation forms. But we would extend a warm welcome to all the new players who would like to give the leaders a run for their money. All in a day's work…yes, and knowledge gleaned from the past years' experience. Commenting on the awards, Sheldon Santwan, editor, hospitality and travel, Indian Express Group, says, "As we have done in the past, we will continue to recognise excellence in the travel industry through these awards. This time around, we will see heightened and yes even cut-throat, competition peppered with new categories and a concerted effort to ensure that we level the playing field. The maturity of these awards only proves our consistent quest to raise the bar."

For now, we can suggest you look forward to your nomination and evaluation forms. This will ultimately culminate in a very grand, high-profile award ceremony with the crème-de-la-crème of the travel industry in attendance, all in Mumbai, the commercial capital of the country.
