TAFI Convention In Singapore Postponed
The much-talked about TAFI annual convention that was slated to be held on August 11-14 2005 in Singapore has been rescheduled to mid-September.

IATO, ANVR Sign MoU To Boost Tourism
The Indian Association of Tour Operators (IATO) and the Algemeen Nederlands Verbond Van Reisondernemingen (The Netherlands Federation of Travel Agencies) or ANVR have agreed in principle to work together for promoting tourism between the two countries by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). They will sign a formal agreement subject to the approval of the boards of both organisations.

‘Challenges In The Time Of Boom’
The 21st IATO convention, slated for August 2005, is causing a stir in the industry. Vijay Thakur, chairman of IATO Convention Committee and VP of IATO talks to Jyoti Koul about its theme 'Incredible Boom, Incredible Challenges' and topics that it will touch upon .

‘Convention’al Times Ahead
We are nearing the season for annual conventions of trade associations. While the India Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) and the Indian Association for Tour Operators (IATO) have chosen August, for Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) the preferred month is September and for the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) it is October.

Net-Enabled Systems Are The Way To Go
Technology is a great way to enhance business. And with the International Air Travel Association's (IATO) decision to introduce e-ticketing by 2007 in airlines across the globe, it can only help the travel industry achieve better efficiency.

Branding India
Tourism has become the 'brand' new focus these days. The finance ministry, in the Union Budget 2005-06, raised the fund allocation for tourism to Rs 786 crore from Rs 500 crore in 2004-05. The allocation for tourism infrastructure is Rs 416 crore, up from Rs 279 crore last year.
