RepCom Focusing On Niche Products

Charmaine Fernz - Mumbai

India has surely and steadily got on to the global map and with this positive reckoning, a whole gamut of international products see the need to have a presence in the Indian scenario. Taking this trend a step ahead, RepCom, an international representative company based out of Mumbai and represents four international products mainly - the Pacific International Hotels - Australia, Smartvisit Card (SVC) - Australia, Jobin - Switzerland and Basecamp - Switzerland.

Mark Mendes
Our primary focus is on the future sightseeing products that will develop in the tourism verticals of MICE and FIT

Explains Mark Mendes, managing director, RepCom, "Our primary focus is on the future sightseeing products that will develop in the tourism verticals of MICE, FIT, and those products that cater to student traffic. Through these companies, we represent attractions and accommodation, so our target clientele are the experiential travellers and students, for whom travel is a learning experience. By taking on the representation of these four companies, (and
more to follow from Northern Europe and the North American continent) in India, we are making it more accessible for the Indian travel trade to procure these products. However, we are a B2B outfit and would be selling these products through the large tour operators and specialist travel agents across India and South Asia."

Elaborating on the four products and their relevance to the Indian market, Mendes states, "It is a given fact that both Australia and Switzerland are well-defined tourism destinations from the Indian perspective. These destinations cater to the matured Indian traveller, hence the above products are a perfect match.”

Taking that factor into consideration, the Smartvisit Card has three options - See Sydney & Beyond, See Melbourne & Beyond & See Tasmania & Beyond. All the three cards offer value for money options in terms of attractions and discounts across all three destinations. Pacific International Hotels provide you with varied types of accommodations from hotels rooms to apartments, from resorts to suites and even special student lodging. These are available at all the major cities all over Australia.

The Jobin Corp on the other hand represents a highly unique, modern and innovative platform for Swiss artistic crafts. The visitor can see the largest collection of Swiss woodcarving in the world as well as a large number of antique musical boxes of different kinds and sizes. Here the Indian clientele can experience and take part in traditional Swiss craftwork. Such participation in actual skilled craftwork in the JOBIN MUSEUM is a real experience, creating one's own woodcarving, a turned piece or even a traditional musical box or harp. This workshop is targeted at families and individual travelers.

Last but not the least, Basecamp, is an outdoor events company which primarily caters to the MICE market and students, the programmes are tailored made according the requirements of the clients. There are primarily two sets of programmes one for the winter and other for the summer. Experiences include camping in tents to tepees to even igloos on the glacier in winter.
