Emirates Holidays Launches TradeNet

Emirates Holidays organised a series of roadshows across various cities to introduce - TradeNet - an innovative online quotation system, to the Indian travel fraternity The five-city road show witnessed a presence of over 530 travel agents and consolidators that gathered to learn more about the latest holiday reservation software.

TradeNet has been introduced primarily for travel agents who can now experience ease and convenience in booking and costing Emirates Holidays vacation packages for their clients. Agents in different parts of India can now simply log on to the software, check for availability, create tailor-made vacation packages, calculate the costs online, and directly communicate with Emirates Holidays through the website. The hassle-free software reduces unnecessary communication, time and expenses incurred through telephones, faxes and e-mails.

Commenting on the new software, Jyrki Nilson, Emirates' business development manager West Asia and Pacific Rim said, "The potential for outbound leisure travel from India has been steadily rising with the 'Great Indian Middle Class' contributing to quite actively in outbound travel. For its Indian customers, Emirates Holidays offers more than 1,000 holiday products to 33 plus countries across the world. To ensure that our travel trade partners have a better understanding of our products and booking systems, we have undertaken these road shows."

Statistics released by the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai International Airport revealed that 8,99,742 Indian travellers arrived in Dubai in 2003. Further, according to the Ministry of Planning, India ranked 4th in terms of number of hotel guests recording a total 273,519 in 2003.
