The recent reduction of airline commissions by Air-India for travel agents from seven to five per cent saw the entire travel fraternity in northern India protest against the airline with a nationwide bandh.

Tourism Australia recently showcased the country's new advertisement campaign - Australia In A Different Light - to the Indian travel fraternity along with a photo exhibition expressing the various experiences of Australia as a destination. Austrian Airlines applauded its top 15 agents for their performance at the Top Agency Awards function held at Le Meridien, Delhi. Apart from the award ceremony that appreciated and encouraged the top performers and contributors in the industry. The awards were presented by Ramesh Marwah, regional manager-India, followed by a short address by Bernhard Baeck, country manager-India.
