TAFI Selects Singapore For Annual Convention

The pro-active approach of Singapore Tourism Board facilitated the decision process

The Travel Agents Federation of India (TAFI) has chosen Singapore as the venue for the next annual convention - TAFI 2005, to be held in from August 11- 14, 2005. The destination was chosen after a careful evaluation of the various possible options in the region.

Zakkir Ahmed, president, TAFI, remarked, "We have finally decided to hold our next convention in Singapore. This destination has a wide variety of new and innovative product offerings and it was the pro-active approach of the Singapore Tourism Board which facilitated the decision process."

Captain Promod Kohli, chairman - convention committee, further added that, "Singapore is vibrant and we believe that the destination offers an ideal setting for MICE events. We now have much greater connectivity to Singapore with even Jet Airways commencing direct flights later this month and Air Sahara also on the verge of opening up this new route."

" The travel industry in India is going through a very trying time at present and TAFI 2005 will provide the perfect forum for our members to meet and discuss issues of vital importance pertaining to the survival and growth of the travel agent fraternity." Ahmed explained.
