French Embassy Opens Visa Application Centres In India

In what may seem a significant move to ease the visa application process, the Embassy of France recently announced the opening up of new visa application centers in India. The new centres will be conveniently located at Mumbai, New Delhi and Chennai. The centres will be operational with immediate effect in all the three cities.

Applicants for a short-term Schengen Visa who are residing in India can now take an appointment by calling the call centre in Mumbai, Delhi or Chennai and then submit their application at the newly opened France Visa Application Centres. The appointment system ensures that the applicants do not have to wait for long to submit their applications. Applicants can also take an appointment online by logging on to www.vfs-france.co.in. They can also instantly track the status of their application by logging on to www.vfs-france.co.in or by messaging Visa FR - passport number - to 7333 on their Mobile Phones.

Commenting on the new launch, Dominique Girard, ambassador of France in India, underlined the important progress made possible thanks to the new visa application process, and hoped that all visa applicants would be satisfied with the improvements deriving from the new arrangement.
