Interglobe Launches ITQ

Anindita Chattopadhyay - New Delhi

Foreseeing the changing trends and requirements of the Indian travel industry, Interglobe Enterprises Limited has launched a new company called Interglobe Technology Quotient ( ITQ) to provide end-to-end technology consulting to the travel industry. ITQ, according to Raja Natesan, president and CEO, will play the role of operational technology consultant and converged solutions provider.

Explaining how they can help in bringing about a transformation, he said, "We will do a TQ audit to define the technology efficiency of a company. Then provide consultation regarding business process re-engineering to reach the desired goal of the company, and finally as a technology partner, we will hand-hold the company through the whole process of business transformation." The company guarantees higher profits, a better image and global reach through user-friendly technology. Ask Natesan how do they promise that and he replies, "Today we are in a position to tell the company where it stands, find out the goal it envisages and guarantee that goal if they partner with us."

The company proposes to provide a unique value proposition through a three-pronged strategy. It will bring together IT and BPO expertise via the technology arm of Interglobe Enterprises, exclusive content via Cendant Corporation and travel distribution via Galileo India. "ITQ will offer access to the exclusive Cendant content which is a bouquet of suppliers (Avis, Ramada etc), distribution technology companies (Galileo, Neat, WizCom etc), distribution channels (Orbitz, lodging.com) and consumers such as Cendant's corporate clients, preferred alliance partners and one-third of travelling public. Through Interglobe and Galileo we will offer customised IT programming, airline distribution system, travel distribution services and internet based unique aggregated content," Natesan pointed out.

Natesan is also confident of capturing a 45-50 per cent share of this half a million market pie because ITQ has no competitor till now. The clients of the company would involve vendors including low cost airlines, tourist boards, travel agents, hotels and even corporate houses. "We are confident because we have already received encouraging response. Even from IT companies in Bangalore," he summed up.
