RTDC Embarks On Rs 2 Crore Renovation Of Hotels

The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) has embarked on a renovation
of nine of its prime properties. Coming under the chisel will be the Khadim
in Ajmer, Tiger Den in Sariska, Lake Palace in Siliserh, Gangaur and Durg Cafe
in Jaipur, Moomal and Samdhai in Jaisalmer, Jhoomar in Sawai and Kajri in Udaipur.
The total cost of the planned undertaking is estimated at Rs 2 crore. "Rajasthan
is currently poised at being India's leading tourist destination and with the
government and the tourism ministry working in tandem to promote the state as
a year-round tourist destination, it is vital that RTDC spruce up its properties
and services," said Vinod Zutshi, chairman, RTDC.
Besides, the renovation, RTDC has also opened its doors to private sector participation
from both international and domestic hotel companies in managing and operating
RTDC owned properties in joint venture collaboration or through the lease/operate
route. Zutshi said, "The RTDC is seeking private sector participation in
managing and operating its properties and is eyeing leading budget brand companies
for a probable JV or tie-up."
