Emirates Launches Seychelles Service
Emirates recently launched its thrice-weekly non-stop services
to Seychelles. The Airbus A330-200 offers passengers 54 seats in business class
and 183 in economy, along with up to 15 tonnes of cargo. The Seychelles - the
first new destination to join the Emirates network in 2005 - is the airline's
78th route. All passengers on the first flight were presented with a commemorative
box of chocolates at the check-in counter. The new service provides travellers
from Europe, Middle East and the Indian sub-continent with a convenient one-stop

awareness of the Seychelles and new Emirates services, the airline has already
commenced promotional activities across it global network. In partnership with
top tour operators, Emirates also recently introduced all-inclusive packages
to the Seychelles with a free stopover in Dubai.
CAAS To Set Up Low Cost Terminal At Changi
The
Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has awarded a S$24.7 million contract
to Sanchoon Builders P Ltd to design and build the low cost terminal at Singapore
Changi Airport. Sanchoon Builders is expected to start construction work in
the first quarter of 2005. The low cost terminal is scheduled for completion
in early 2006.
The low cost terminal is made up of two adjacent single-storey buildings connected
via link ways. This design facilitates seamless passenger flow in the single
storey building, as arrival and departure procedures will be processed in separate
blocks. Travellers will also find convenience services such as money-changers,
duty-free shopping, and food & beverage outlets within the terminal. There
will also be a shuttle bus service to connect travellers to the existing terminals
at Changi Airport. The low cost terminal will have an initial passenger handling
capacity of 2.7 million passengers a year.
