Condominium International (RCI) has further strengthened its presence in Kerala,
by affiliating The Kairali Heritage Resort in Kannur. With this, the RCI affiliated
properties in Kerala has reached a count of five. Apart from the recent addition,
RCI has three properties affiliated in Munnar and one in Kumarakom. RCI has
sent over 5,000 RCI member families on holiday to Kerala in the last few years,
which translates to approximately about 20,000 people who went to Kerala through
RCI. They are working towards more affiliations in Kerala both in the southern
part of the state as well as in the Malabar region.
Expressing her views on the latest southern affiliation, Radhika Shastry, general
manager RCI India operations, said, "Kerala is one of the favoured holiday
destinations amongst our members and a key focus destination for us. The affiliation
with The Kairali Heritage Resort increases our footprint in Kerala while giving
our members yet another exotic holiday experience. We work very closely with
our developers to bring to our members the true local flavour of each destination."
Adding further, P N Sasikumar, director, Kannur County Club Private Limited,
said, "We are happy to have affiliated with RCI and especially proud of
the fact that our resort has been built specifically keeping in mind the requirements
of timeshare holidayers. RCI's expertise and experience in the global timeshare
market gave us the guidance to build this resort in synergy with timeshare resorts
the world over." Located on the banks of the Katampally River, eight kilometers
from Kannur, The Kairali Heritage is a 25 unit resort set against the backdrop
of a typical Malabar countryside. The resort guests also have access to a beach
located nearby.
Speaking about the future plans Shastry adds, "In the coming year our focus
on Kerala and Rajasthan would continues. In addition we will be looking at affiliating
properties in the East such as in Sikkim, Gangtok, Darjeeling etc. This region
certainly needs more timeshare resorts. RCI has moved from being a mere enabler
of exchanges to enhancing holiday experiences at our Affiliated resort properties.
We would continue to work with our business partners to bring far more enriching
experiences to the timeshare consumer.
A whole host of rental deals have been negotiated across the globe for the RCI
member and this is available in three to five star properties in urban locations
where timeshare does not have much of a presence. A new affiliation will come
up in Coorg early next year. The resort will be completed by early April 2005
in order for members to start holidaying in the summer of 2005.
