‘We Are Looking At Opening New Offices Overseas To Consolidate Our Position’

L Prithviraj Singh, senior vice-president, SITA Inbound Division (winner of the ‘Best Inbound Tour Operator Award’, in conversation with
Neeti Chopra, mentions that innovation of new business and circuits as well as promoting the lesser known regions of the country are lined up for 2005

What does the award mean to you?

This is an extremely prestigious award, and it is a great honour for SITA to receive this award for the second consecutive year.

What according to you was the secret of your success?

A clear focus on the job in hand, quality consciousness in all aspects for the business, and an orientation towards our people, who are our most important asset are the main reasons for us to be in this position today.

How do you plan to retain this success?

Besides ensuring that we continue to do what we were doing during the last year in terms of quality and people management, we will be focussing on innovation of new business and circuits as well as promoting the lesser known regions of the country and much more in the coming year. A beginning has been made with our FIT brochure ‘India Quest’ launched in September this year. During the past year, we have also launched SITA Care to promote medical tourism, and a call centre, which will be a booking-cum-information service for our existing and potential clients.

What are your future plans?

Plans for the future include breaking into new markets, product innovation, and creating benchmarks for service levels in the tourism industry.
We are also looking at opening new offices overseas to consolidate our position in certain markets, besides penetrating new areas
