Aeroflot Focuses On Destination Promotion

Aeroflot Russian Airlines begun on a refreshing start after its re-launch in Mumbai. Apart from a complete change in its administrative functioning with new strategies and techniques in place, the airline under its new station manager has plans to strengthen the position of the airline in the Indian market.

Apart from regular traffic between Russia and India, the airline is aiming to focus on tourism promotion to the country which inturn would generate business for the airline. The airline, with support from the Russian embassy and Anjmal travel, a tour operator who specialises in Russia tourism have conducted presentations at few tour operating companies to sell the region in the Indian market.

Elucidating his plans in the Indian market, Vladimir Ivchenko, station manager, Aeroflot Russian Airlines, said, "India is an extremely promising market and it has a lot of untapped potential. Boosting tourism to the country through few support systems is definitely on our priority list. It is not only outbound tourism that has potential but also the vice versa. Today there are a number of Russian who would love to visit India, but unfortunately apart from Goa they are yet to be introduced to other parts of the country. We at our end are trying our do our best in building awareness in this area and have conducted meetings with few tour operators to introduce Russian tourism in India."

The airline is also hoping to increase its flights between the countries, wherein talks are on with civil aviation authorities to procure permissions.
