‘Galileo Express Travel & Tourism Awards’ Evinces Great Enthusiasm From Industry

The nomination forms sent out by Express Travel and Tourism to the travel trade have already evinced overwhelming enthusiasm. So, if you are yet to file your nomination, you certainly do not want to wait much longer, the contenders are nearing the finishing line where the leaders of quality in travel and tourism will be revealed. To prefect the process, Express Travel & Tourism is bringing out Polling Forms, which will be put to a nationwide survey conducted amongst IATA accredited travel agents. These travel agents will poll for the top 10 contenders in each category, the results of which will contribute to finalising the winners. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu the consultants and research paterners will colate all the entries and finally open the envelope at the gala night.

Constructive criticism is always a welcome part of any successful endeavour and keeping this in mind we invited suggestions and feedback from the industry after the 2003 awards. In keeping with the transparent system we adhered to during our maiden voyage, we hope to navigate our way into 2004 using this information garnered and incorporating it into our decision making process.

Following a series of meetings with the Express Travel & Tourism Advisory Board, with a crew of stalwarts like Ankur Bhatia, Vijay Chadda, Saroj Datta, Ashok Fenn, Subhash Goyal, Cyrus Guzder, Zubin Karkaria, Ashwini Kakkar, Khursheed Lam, Seema Luthra, Tej Sahni, Alok Sawhney, Prem Subramaniam both in Mumbai and Delhi, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd, consultants and research partners to this exclusive affair have finalised the various criteria and categories. After the phenomenal success of Galileo Express Travel & Tourism Awards in 2003, Galileo India, India's leading Global Distribution Services company for the airline and travel industries, along with Express Travel & Tourism from the Business Publications Division of the Indian Express Group, will echo this with a much awaited encore, spotlighting the crème de la crème of the travel industry professionals and raising the bar for those future aspirants to reach this ultimate pinnacle of proven calibre. This formal extravaganza, captained by Columbus (the symbol of the Galileo-Express Travel & Tourism Awards) is scheduled to set sail from New Delhi in November 2004. As part of the course charted for this second voyage the awards will honour professionals over categories such as airlines, hotels, tour operators and tourism boards thus covering the entire spectrum.
