Travel Corporation (India) Pvt Ltd (TCI), has recently announced
its senior citizen holidays created specially for those in their 60s and
above. The packages designed as of now are to Indian destinations such as Kashmir,
Goa, Kerala. Nepal is the only destination in the international circuit.
The packages have been designed to suit the requirements of the senior traveller.
Speaking on the new launch and the initiative behind it, Meher Bhandara, general
manager, corporate communications, TCI, says, The thought to launch this
programme emerged from our clients themselves. Detailed research, client inputs
and demands and constant feedback resulted in setting up this new holiday initiative.
Special travel fares, both rail and air, have further boosted the feasibility
of such a package. We also offer special fares for senior citizens on any cruise
liners or even on the Euro rail. Our research brought to light that keeping
all variables in mind this was the right time for senior citizen travel, encouraging
us to launch the holiday package during the current phase. Senior citizen holidays
need to be extremely comfortable and at an easy pace to meet their expectations
and demands. Our emphasis would be to conduct tailor-made holidays for them.
Soon there are plans by the company to launch senior citizen packages for the
international circuit.
Bhandara further adds, For seniors citizens making up their own groups
of 15 or more, TCI has additional savings lined up. They can even book air tickets
with TCI and avail of the senior citizens discounted fare. TCIs
travel counsellors are at hand to look after all arrangements and will also
customise holidays for them.
The company has also announced some special deals to popular Indian destinations
that can be availed of before the end of September 2004.
