Amadeus Kick-Starts Indias First B2B Travel Portal
ET&T Staff - Mumbai
Amadeus India announced the launch of Res4travel.com, which promises to enable
small and medium sized travel operators to extend reach and tap greater business
opportunities. Targeted at standalone hotels and taxi operators, this business-to-business
portal is designed to provide the smaller travel service providers high coverage
and high volume distribution by leveraging the Amadeus India network of 8,500
terminal installations at travel agency locations across the country.
Elaborating on the launch of Res4travel.com, Ankur Bhatia, managing director,
Amadeus India Subcontinent said, Our regular market analysis highlights
the need for creating an online platform for the local travel service providers
wherein they are equipped to reach out to a larger cross-section of travel agents,
and thereby effect healthier revenue margins. Keeping this need in mind, we
designed this unique travel portal that will enable the small players who are
not affiliated to international chains and who often do not have basic infrastructure
and resources, to sell their services directly to the travel agents through
this online B2B portal.
Backed by our world-class infrastructure and our strong network of over
7,000 users, we are confident that Res4travel will serve to be the right vehicle
for seamless exchange of information between the service providers at one end
and the travel agents at the other. Added Bhatia.
Res4travel.com will enable travel service providers to make available their
range of services on a common web-based platform and will facilitate agents
to view this information, make and confirm bookings from any location round
the clock. Backed by a highly secure payment gateway, Res4travel.com will allow
hassle-free transactions between the travel retailer and service provider community.
| Amadeus Introduces SMS Facilities For Airline Partners
Amadeus recently introduced the facility of advising ticket limits for travel
agencies using Short Messaging Service (SMS). Especially created to cater
to capping requests post business hours and public holidays, this product
allows the authorised mobile users to update the capping limits on the Amadeus
system, using predefined formats over the SMS.
This facility would be available round the clock and
would allow airlines to update the agency capping limits with complete
record and responsibility of the update.
This facility can be availed at any time of the day. No Internet
or email is required to send the request. Using the SMS of a mobile phone,
the authorised airline personnel can key in the request to Amadeus India.
