Navigator 2005 To Analyse India’s Key Travel Segments

To Be Launched In Kolkata At TAAI 2004

The year 2002-03 will long be remembered as the year of resurgence, of the Indian travel and tourism industry. Today, the industry is surging ahead full-throttle and is standing at the threshold of what will easily be the highest growth percentage that this country has witnessed till date in tourism. At the recently concluded WTTC's (World Travel and Tourism Council) annual conference held in Doha, a research study presented showed that the next 10 years would see India's travel and tourism demand grow by 8.8 per cent per annum, which is one of the highest in the world. India is definitely ripe with potential, which needs only to be unleashed. What the industry is in dire need of, is a road map to chart a course, that will usher India into the new global scenario as a comprehensive tourism product.

Through the Navigator Series, Express Travel & Tourism has always endeavoured to provide the industry with 'cutting edge' business strategies, successful 'global practices' and the 'knowledge resources', vital to steer one's business. In keeping with this trend, Navigator 2005 will continue to provide all of the above and much more.

Through this stratagem, Express Travel & Tourism along with our research partners Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and the World Travel & Tourism Council [WTTC] will conduct and present a first-ever nationwide survey both on the international and domestic market within all verticals of the industry. In addition, it will also feature an in-depth research and select case studies of successful destinations. The research would be carried across the following key market segments.

  • Business Travel
  • MICE
  • Leisure
  • VFR (Visiting Friends & Relatives)
  • Students
  • Religious
  • Medical

Each of these segments is a prospective goldmine for the Indian tourism fraternity and an analysis of each segment will help the industry to effectively promote travel, both on the internationally and domestic front. Navigator 2005 will incorporate the outcome of this research, to elucidate core statistics (present and future), industry expectations, growth patterns and will undoubtedly assist the travel industry to better understand future trends to maximise travel promotion.

One can certainly wait with bated breath for Navigator 2005, which will be published to coincide with the annual TAAI convention to be held in Kolkata in September 2004. So, go ahead and watch Navigator 2005 unravel a plethora of strategies to usher the industry into what will be a truly shinning tomorrow.
