Shop Till You Drop With The Great Singapore Sale

The Great Singapore Sale (GSS) is back for the eleventh year. This time, even bigger, with the festival being extended to an additional two weeks from last year, the shopping experiences are more varied and exciting. The GSS that commenced in the last week of May brings bargains galore to discerning shoppers with prices slashed by up to 70 per cent in many stores.

With retailers' island-wide coming together to offer shoppers a wide variety of quality goods including electronics, fashion, jewellery, cosmetics, watches etc. Singapore's Orchard Road is abuzz with stores offering great deals. One could find practically every brand name in fashion and accessories, be it Gucci, Prada, Versace, Givenchy, et al with mind-blowing discounts.

This year, for the very first time, the Great Singapore Sale has been extended to the Changi Airport where travellers on transit can look forward to great deals from over 150 duty free shops.

At this year's Great Singapore Sale, Singapore Tourism has also launched the 'Shop and Eat Tours' which will take visitors on an off-beaten path journey for a glimpse into Singapore's unique way of life while enjoying the best of local pastimes - shopping and food. Visitors can choose to embark on the

'Ethnic' Trail' to uncover the rich and unique lifestyle and character of ethnic districts in Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam; or the 'Heartland Trail' for a taste of the microcosm of Singaporean life in the heartlands of Toa Payoh and Holland Village.

To extend the reach of GSS 2004, STB has for the first time, launched a market specific advertising campaign. Both outdoor as well as the print medium are being used to reach out to the discerning shoppers across Indian cities. In an effort to make GSS very attractive to the Indian visitors, the Board is also working out attractive GSS travel packages, which include airfare, accommodation, great shopping deals, food and beverage offers and spa promotions.
