Leading Hotels To Open Mumbai Office

EH&C Staff - Mumbai

The Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) Ltd, a luxury marketing organisation which represents 425 luxury hotels with more than 85,000 hotel rooms in 80 countries all over the world, is opening its first sales office in the country in Mumbai in June. The New York-based company represents 14 hotels all over India. The Mumbai office aims to provide direct and immediate access with its customer base in the country. At a press conference held at the Taj Hotel on May 25, 2004, Mark Greedy, vice-president, Asia-Pacific, said, "The Indian luxury traveller market represents a significant opportunity for the company. We are looking at the Indian outbound market and will be concentrating on corporate organisations for it."

Greedy said the company was planning several initiatives from July to strengthen the brand name of the company. "The company has a yearly budget of about US$ 100,000 for India and most of the investment required for the branding initiatives will come from it," he said. LHW plans to add four more luxury hotels in India to its portfolio in the next two months.

The company has 18 offices worldwide. It provides additional group business to member hotels, providing assessment of facilities and services and offering innovative solutions to maximise business opportunities on the internet amongst other advantages.
