Reema Sisodia - Mumbai

Establishes Kesari Art and Culture Foundation

On June 8, 2004, Kesari Tours Pvt Ltd will complete 20 years in operation. To commemorate its 20-year presence in the travel and tourism industry, the company recently added a new facet to its compendium in the form of the Kesari Art and Culture Foundation. The foundation aims to encourage and promote local Indian talent and give them a platform to perform in regions across India.

To further provide impetus to this new venture, the company has scheduled a series of events that would be held in various cities throughout the year. The launch event that was held under the auspices of Kesari Art and Culture Foundation was the Holi Utsav held in Mumbai at the ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton. Prominent singers from the Indian classical school namely Pushkar Lele and Shubha Mudgal performed at the event. The next event was held in Pune at the Taj Blue Diamond where the festival of Gudi Padwa was celebrated along with performances from leading singers from the Indian classical scene. At both the events, the work of artist Sadhak Shivananda Saraswati was also displayed. Similar events have been lined up to be held in other cites namely Bangalore and New Delhi in the coming year.

Says Veena Patil, director, Kesari Tours Pvt Ltd, “Our new venture is the dream of our founder Kesari Patil. The sole aim of the foundation is to supporting and promoting local Indian art and culture across states. It has been born from the core of human expression. It is committed to nurture Indian art and culture at a national and international level. This is the company's contribution to the society with a focused aim to meet the cause of art and culture in India especially for the local talent. It marks a new beginning in service to our rich heritage and tradition.”
